Sea Salt Body Scrub — The Step Between IPL Sessions

The honest version

It's a salt scrub. That's the whole thing.

There is no technology here and we're not going to invent any. Ground sea salt in an oil base, grapefruit for scent. What matters is not what it is — it's when you use it, and when you absolutely don't.

Why we sell it

The step between IPL sessions

IPL works on a cycle. You flash, you wait one to two weeks, you flash again. In the gap, hair that has been treated works its way out of the follicle — and some of it doesn't make it, which is what an ingrown hair is. Gentle exfoliation two or three times a week during that gap helps loosen dead skin over the follicle so shed hairs clear more easily, and it visibly improves the look of bumpy, congested skin on legs and underarms.

That's the entire claim. It's a modest one, and it's the reason this jar exists on a site that otherwise sells devices and kits. If you own our handset, this is the thing you should be doing on the off-days.

Before you buy

Who this works for, and who it doesn't

A salt scrub on the wrong skin, on the wrong day, does real damage. We'd rather you skipped it than got this wrong.

✓Use it if

  • You're running an IPL course and want something useful to do between sessions
  • You get bumps or ingrown hairs on legs, underarms or the bikini line after shaving or waxing
  • Your skin is intact, healthy and not currently irritated
  • You can be gentle. This is a rinse-off exfoliant, not a scouring pad

✗Don't use it if

  • You shaved, waxed or epilated today. Salt on freshly opened follicles stings and inflames. Wait 24 hours, minimum
  • You have an IPL session in the next 24 hours — go in with calm, unexfoliated skin
  • The skin is broken, sunburned, freshly needled, or has an active rash or infection
  • You have eczema, psoriasis or very reactive skin, unless someone qualified has told you it's fine
  • You want it on your face. This is body-only, and the grain is too coarse for facial skin

The protocol

How it fits around IPL

Day 0 — IPL sessionShave, flash, moisturise with something plain. No scrub, before or after.
Days 3, 6, 9 — scrubWet skin, small amount, light circles for about thirty seconds per area, rinse well. Not daily.
Day 12–14 — stopLeave the skin alone for the 24 hours before your next session. Then start over.

FAQ

Questions

Does this stop ingrown hairs?

It helps. It does not stop them. Exfoliation clears dead skin that can trap a hair working its way out, which improves the appearance of bumpy skin and makes ingrowns less likely — but hair texture, shaving technique and follicle angle all matter more than any scrub does. Anyone promising you it prevents them is overselling a jar of salt.

Why not daily?

Because over-exfoliating is the most common way people damage a skin barrier, and salt is not gentle. Two or three times a week is the ceiling for most people. If your skin feels tight, raw or looks red an hour later, you've done too much.

Can I use it on my face?

No. The grain is too coarse. If you want facial exfoliation, that's what the 0.25mm roller is for, and it has its own protocol.

Can I use it right after waxing?

Not for at least 24 hours, and 48 is better. Waxing pulls hair from the follicle and leaves it open. Salt in an open follicle is exactly as unpleasant as it sounds.

Is this the same as a body oil for ingrowns?

No, and we don't currently sell one. An oil-based treatment and a physical exfoliant do different jobs. We'd rather tell you that than imply this jar covers both.

How fast does it ship?

It ships from a US warehouse, which most of our range doesn't. Processing is 1–3 business days and delivery is typically 3–7 days within the US. You'll get a tracking number.

What's the catch?

Honestly, that it's an ordinary product. Body scrubs are not hard to make and there are cheaper ones. We stock this one because it ships fast, the formulation is plain, and it's the correct companion step for an IPL course. If you already own a scrub you like, use that one.

Care

Use caution

For external use on the body only. Patch test on a small area first. Keep away from the eyes and from broken, irritated or freshly shaved skin. Take care in the shower — oil-based scrubs make surfaces slippery. Stop using it if irritation develops, and speak to a professional if it doesn't settle.
